ABOUT 2019-02-18T09:54:02+00:00

My teenage ambition was to change this world. I am not a Wonder Woman, but I am a produced screenwriter, emerging producer, filmmaker and teacher. So I suppose I am heading in the right direction.

I was born in Saint-Petersburg, one of the most beautiful cities in the world. After graduating with Distinction from University in Russia as a stage director and playwriter, for more than 15 years I was writing scripts for independent theatrical performances and TV. A feature film and 39 episodes of TV series were made from my scripts in Russia. I also held different positions in filmmaking (screenwriter, assistant director, script supervisor, production designer), and was a tutor of Scriptwriting at my Alma Mater University.

In 2015 I decided to change my career and to enter British film industry. My first step was to do a Masters course in the UK, which I have successfully done and graduated with Distinction from MA Screenwriting course at Screen Academy Scotland (Edinburgh Napier University) in 2016.

2016-2018 years became a good start for a newcomer: I have produced 4 short films, have written screenplays for 4 produced short films and have directed 1 short film. A feature film screenplay and a TV mini-series written by me are now in development in the US/UK.

Apart from writing, producing and directing, I pursue an academic career at a PhD Film course at the Lancaster University and develop an online Screenwriting school for Russian filmmakers.

While being a teacher myself, I am sure that a screenwriter needs to study constantly in order not to become out of date. That is why I did online courses at the University of East Anglia (Screenwriting course), the Open University (The Business of Film) and National Film and Television School (Filmmaking course), Film Distribution (Film Distributors’ Association), Inro to Film Producing (Met Film School). I also annually visit master classes of the world famous professionals at the London Screenwriters Festival, Cannes Film Festival, and Edinburgh International Film Festival.
